The Technical Part:

  • Bachelor's or Associate Degree and at least one to two (1-2) years of previous exposure in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Devices industry. 
  • Bilingual: (Spanish and English)
  • Shift: Administrative & according to business needs 
  • Experience in:
    • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
    • Preventive maintenance required
    • Manufacturing equipment operation
    • Ability to read schematics
    • Proficient in maintenance software

AS A PIECE OF FITS, YOU WILL: (The day-to-day on the job)

  • Performs "Troubleshooting" and completes repairs to keep manufacturing equipment running efficiently, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electronic components. 
  • Minimizes computer downtime and maximizes capacity for use.
  • Responsible for executing preventive maintenance (PM) associated with manufacturing equipment within the established times (e.g. oil changes and pulleys, engine reviews, vibrations, efficient operation of "lathes", "freezers" and furnaces, among other equipment).
  • Coordinates the completion of the WP with the manufacturing area in order to complete the tasks according to the established itinerary and minimizing "downtime".
  • Actively participates in special projects or assignments, such as: the support of validations, transferring of new products, improvements to manufacturing equipment, "layouts" and testing of new equipment or technologies.
  • Participates in the evaluation to accept or reject manufacturing equipment, based on the specifications of the engineering department.
  • Assists in qualifications, equipment movements and utility facilities, using and completing IQ/OQ documentation and ensuring that each team complies with the required documentation and specifications, as established by the engineering group and procedures.
  • Responsible for the effective use of spare parts and provides support to the spare part system and preventative maintenance, following the procedures established to ensure inventory control of acrylic parts.
  • Identifies parts, equipment or tools that are necessary and ensures that they are available following the established processes.
  • Makes an effective "pass down" at the beginning and end of each shift between technicians and supervisors of the respective shifts.
  • Analyzes and recommends modifications and improvements to manufacturing equipment by evaluating the mechanical systems, programming, plans, schematics and data collection, among other variables, maximizing the capacity and effectiveness of the equipment.
  • Troubleshoots simple mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment to detect malfunction and diagnoses problems or repairs machines.
  • Utilizes computerized maintenance management system for work orders and preventive maintenance entries and closures.
  • Completes maintenance logs, part requisitions and preventive maintenance inspection records.
  • Maintains safe work habits in the handling of equipment, tools, and chemicals through utilizing protective equipment.
