WHAT MAKES YOU A FIT: 

The Technical Part:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related EH&S field and at least five (5) years of experience in Managing Safety activities within the Pharmaceutical & Medical Devices Industry.
  • Bilingual: Spanish and English
  • Soft Skills: Excellent Communication skills, and Positive attitude. 
  • Shift: Administrative and according to business needs. 
  • Experience in:
    • Demonstrated ability to identify hazards, take corrective actions, and manage the resolution of unsafe conditions or practices to prevent accidents or incidents.
    • Managing safety programs in a construction or industrial environment, including conducting risk assessments and safety audits.
    • Safety Regulations and Standards

AS A PIECE OF FITS, YOU WILL: (The day-to-day on the job) 

  • Approve the resources hired to execute the Owner’s HSE Advisor role for specific projects
  • Execute the support roles/responsibilities of the Owner’s HSE Advisor until one is assigned to support the project
  • Complete the technical review of the Construction Safety Execution Plan (CSEP) and Project Specific Health, Safety & Environmental Plan (PSHSEP) before their approval
  • Evaluate execution standards of assigned project and ensure project self-assessment program is being completed
  • Actively engage in governance and metric review meetings to identify trends.  Ensure appropriate actions plans to address opportunities and track completion.
  • Approve root cause analysis for event investigations, and record appropriately in Owner’s event tracking and notification systems. Communicate situations to Owner’s management following GFD and project site’s escalation guidelines.
  • Provide technical HSE review and input for project decisions/changes
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations on significant exceptions to agreed standards and specifications
  • Develop strong relationship with Owner’s HSE Advisor and Contractor Safety Lead
  • Collect monthly safety metrics and input in designated HSE databases
  • Work in conjunction with site HSE to develop safe work permit strategies require to manage contractors before transfer of care, custody, and control (TCCC)
  • Support the Industrial Hygiene Representative to establish personnel protective equipment (PPE) requirements for Owner employees visiting the project, based on the PSHSEP Chemical Exposure Assessment.
